North Melbourne Intraclub Match Set for Friday, February 13

North Melbourne is scheduled to hold its official AFL intraclub match at Arden Street Oval on Friday, February 13. The event promises an exciting glimpse into the upcoming season, with a key highlight being the involvement of two recent draftees. The event will feature draftees Lachy Dovaston and Hugo Mikunda playing on opposing sides.

Team Lineups Revealed

The match will showcase a mix of established senior players and exciting new talent, split into two distinct teams.

Blue Team Spotlight: Lachy Dovaston
Draftee Lachy Dovaston, selected with pick No.16 in the recent AFL Draft, will play for the blue team. This side is bolstered by the presence of several senior players, including prominent names such as Paul Curtis, Cam Zurhaar, and captain Nick Larkey.

Orange Team Spotlight: Hugo Mikunda
Opposing Dovaston, Hugo Mikunda, chosen at pick No.48 in the draft, will join the orange team. This lineup also features notable players, with Zac Banch, Zane Duursma, and Cooper Trembath among the key inclusions for the orange side.

Event Details and Live Coverage

The intraclub match is more than just a training run; it forms a central part of the club's annual Fan Day. This event offers a broader experience for supporters, featuring player autograph sessions and various children's activities alongside the on-field action.

For those unable to attend in person, the match will be live-streamed from 5pm AEDT. This exclusive broadcast is available for Kangaroos members and registered fans, ensuring a wide audience can tune in. Commentary for the game will be provided by the experienced duo of Nigel Carmody and Leigh Montagna.

Match Format

The game is structured to provide a thorough hit-out for the players. It will consist of four 25-minute quarters, offering a substantial period of competitive play. The clock will only stop after goals in the second half, adding to the flow of the game.

Breaks are strategically scheduled to allow for player recovery and coaching adjustments:

  • Six minutes after the first quarter
  • A longer 15-minute break after the second quarter (half-time)
  • Six minutes after the third quarter
