Asian equities registered a decline following record highs, as traders adjusted positions and secured gains in anticipation of a weeklong holiday period in Chinese markets.

Gold and silver prices partially recovered from losses experienced in the prior session.

Key Market Movements

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index decreased by 0.9%, marking its first decline in six sessions.

Despite this, the index is positioned for its strongest weekly gain since September 2024.

Chinese technology stocks also experienced a downturn as investors reduced risk exposure ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays in mainland China and Hong Kong.
