Pixel VPN Quick Settings Tile Gets Major Functionality Boost

A recent update to Google's Pixel VPN introduces enhanced functionality for its Quick Settings (QS) Tile.

The update allows users to more easily monitor their VPN connection status directly from the QS menu.

Previously, the 2x1 QS Tile for VPN by Google displayed the service name twice. With the update, the second line of the tile now shows the current connection status. This status can be 'Connected', 'Paused', 'Connecting…', or 'Can’t connect'. This crucial information was previously only available within the VPN by Google application itself.

The updated Quick Settings Tile is being rolled out with version 2025.12.19.x of VPN by Google. The change includes a server-side component, and its availability is not yet widespread across all Pixel devices.
