Supercars Confirms Major Commentary Shake-Up
Supercars has announced its new television line-up, confirming the departure of long-time commentators Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife from the commentary box. This significant change marks a new era for the broadcast.
Neil Crompton's Full Absence
This change marks Crompton's first full absence from the broadcast since his retirement from driving in 2002, having reportedly declined an offer for a reduced role. His consistent presence has been a staple of Supercars coverage for decades.
Mark Skaife's Evolving Role
Skaife will also be absent from the broadcast for at least the initial part of the upcoming season. However, he is expected to maintain his affiliation with Fox Sports. He may potentially headline a weekly insights program similar to other sports shows, and is anticipated to participate in the coverage of endurance events later in the year.
In the official announcement, Warburton acknowledged the substantial contributions of both individuals:
"Neil and Mark have been phenomenal for Supercars and their contributions are rightfully honoured in our Hall of Fame."
