Prime Video and Amazon have released the first official photos and additional details for the upcoming live-action series Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage in his first leading television role. The series, which draws inspiration from the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, is set in 1930s New York and focuses on the character of Ben Reilly, a private investigator forced to revisit his past as a superhero following a personal tragedy.
Series Overview
The Spider-Noir series centers on Ben Reilly, portrayed by Nicolas Cage, who operates as a seasoned private investigator in 1930s New York. Previously known as "The Spider," Reilly is described as down-on-his-luck and is compelled to re-engage with his former heroic identity as the city’s sole superhero after experiencing a significant personal tragedy.
Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have stated that this iteration of the character, Ben Reilly, is a Spider-Man clone and distinct from the Peter Parker variant seen in other media, characterizing him as older, jaded, and having undergone a prior disillusionment event before the series' timeline.
The series' first-look images include both color and black-and-white shots and were released nine months after initial previews.
