Richmond FC Bolsters Coaching Staff with Young Talent

Richmond Football Club has announced the appointment of three new coaches, all under the age of 35, to bolster its development program for younger players within the AFL system.

The new additions include:

  • Luke Breust (Forwards/Development)
  • Taylor Duryea (Backs/Development)
  • Jack Madgen (VFL)

All three played football at AFL, SANFL, or VFL levels as recently as 2025, bringing invaluable recent playing experience to their new coaching roles.

Coach Yze Outlines Vision for 2026 Season

Adem Yze, the team's coach, has articulated clear expectations for significant improvement across both the coaching staff and the playing group. He emphasized the club's deliberate decision to recruit younger coaches, a strategic move aimed at substantially enhancing its development program.

Yze's primary objective is to improve players systematically, both as a cohesive team and as individual athletes. He reflected on the previous year, noting that while the team's attitude and effort were commendable, execution remained a weaker area when measured against top-tier opponents.

Looking ahead to the upcoming 2026 season, which marks his third as head coach, Yze laid out the club's core philosophy. The focus will be firmly on process with the younger group and maintaining absolute honesty in game reviews, irrespective of the final outcomes.

The club will not set a specific limit on wins, but rather aims for continuous improvement and a significant increase in competitiveness throughout the season.

A crucial target is for Richmond to remain competitive in games for longer periods, especially when facing higher-ranked opponents.
