Amelia Dimoldenberg to Star in Rom-Com for Orion Pictures
Amelia Dimoldenberg is developing a romantic comedy film for Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, in which she is also set to star. The film will feature Dimoldenberg as a by-the-book journalist whose structured life is disrupted when a celebrity interview leads to an unexpected romance, causing her to reevaluate her understanding of love.
Gloria Sanchez Productions, known for titles such as “Booksmart,” will produce the film alongside Dimoldenberg. Sarah Heyward has been tapped to write the script.
Dimoldenberg's Expanding Influence
Dimoldenberg has achieved global recognition through her celebrity interview series, “Chicken Shop Date,” where she engages with prominent figures in a distinctive, awkward style. Her production company, Dimz, Inc, also produces her series “Passenger Princess.”
She has received various accolades, including Streamys and Webbys, and has served as the red carpet correspondent for the Academy Awards for two consecutive years, with a third appearance scheduled for March. In August, Dimoldenberg established Dimz, Inc. Academy, a program designed to expand access to creative media industries for young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Sarah Heyward Set to Pen Script
Sarah Heyward's other projects include writing a film for Netflix and adapting Emily Henry’s “Book Lovers” for Tango Entertainment. In television, she is currently writing “Sweet Valley High” for Netflix and is a co-executive producer on the third season of “Nobody Wants This” for Netflix. She previously contributed to HBO’s “Girls” from its first to last episode.
Gloria Sanchez Productions to Produce
Gloria Sanchez Productions, led by Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell, has produced works such as Nicholas Stoller’s “You’re Cordially Invited” and the upcoming feature “Judgment Day” for Amazon, both starring Ferrell. The company is currently in production on “The Fifth Wheel” for Netflix and previously backed the Emmy-nominated series “Dead to Me.”
