At the time of the announcement, Del Rey described the track as her preferred song from the Stove album and confirmed that a music video had been produced for it.

The track credits Lana Del Rey, Jeremy Dufrene, Chuck Grant, and Jason Pickens as co-writers. Production for the song saw contributions from Jack Antonoff, with Drew Erickson providing strings and additional production.

Upcoming Album: Stove

The single precedes Del Rey's forthcoming album, currently titled Stove. The artist has indicated that the album is expected to arrive "soon."

Del Rey noted that vinyl production typically requires an estimated three months, plus an additional two weeks.

Album Title and Release Date Adjustments

The album Stove has undergone a series of changes regarding both its title and projected release dates. Its previous working titles included Lasso, which was initially scheduled for release in September 2024, and The Right Person Will Stay, which had a revised release date of May 21, 2025.

The album's title was officially changed to Stove in August 2025, with its release subsequently postponed to January 2026.
