Meryl Streep Confirmed to Portray Joni Mitchell in Biopic
Record executive Clive Davis has confirmed that Meryl Streep is cast to portray music icon Joni Mitchell in a forthcoming biopic. The confirmation was made at Davis's annual pre-Grammys party and subsequently reported by Rolling Stone.
Previously, actresses Anya Taylor-Joy and Amanda Seyfried had been linked to the project for the role of a younger Mitchell.
Film Details and Director's Vision
Cameron Crowe is directing the film, a project he has been associated with for several years. Crowe indicated a target release date before 2026.
The movie is based on Mitchell's personal account of her life, rather than a biographical book, presenting events through her perspective.
Crowe clarified that the narrative will unfold through Mitchell's own experiences, offering an intimate look at her life from her unique viewpoint.
