Arrests Made in Two Separate Adelaide Sexual Assault Investigations

Police have made arrests in connection with two distinct alleged sexual assault incidents that occurred recently in Adelaide. A 16-year-old male has been charged following an alleged incident in Flagstaff Hill, while a 33-year-old man faces charges related to an alleged assault on a public bus.

Flagstaff Hill Incident: Teen Charged

An alleged sexual assault involving two teenage males was reported on a Saturday evening at approximately 8 PM. The incident occurred in a park on Regano Road, Flagstaff Hill, located in Adelaide's south.

Police reported that the alleged victim, a teenage male, stated he was approached by an unknown young male who requested assistance locating a lost mobile phone in an adjacent toilet block. The two individuals reportedly spoke briefly before the alleged sexual assault occurred inside the toilet block. Police statements further allege the suspect threatened and sexually assaulted the victim.

Prior to an arrest, authorities had issued a description of a suspect matching:

  • Caucasian appearance
  • Approximately 165cm tall
  • Medium build
  • Aged in his early to mid-teens
  • Brown hair
  • Wearing a black T-shirt and shorts

Following investigations by detectives from SA Police's Southern District and Special Crime Investigation Section, a 16-year-old male from Sturt was apprehended on the subsequent Tuesday. He has been charged with three counts of rape, one count of taking a person by force, and one count of aggravated assault with a weapon. The accused appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court, where bail was not requested, and is scheduled for another court appearance next month.

Public Bus Incident: Man Charged

In a separate incident, a man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage girl on an Adelaide public bus. The incident reportedly took place around 3:30 PM on a Monday afternoon on public bus route 117, which operates from the Adelaide central business district towards the western suburbs.

The accused, a 33-year-old man from Findon, was apprehended at an Oakden address following police investigations. He faces charges of child sex offenses. Police bail was denied, and the man is scheduled to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court.
