The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) has issued a statement regarding documents containing allegations against former President Donald Trump. The department indicated that these claims, which were submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) prior to the 2020 election, were characterized as "untrue and sensationalist," as well as "unfounded and false."

Confirmation of Submission

The Department of Justice confirmed that certain documents detailing allegations concerning former President Donald Trump were submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) just before the 2020 presidential election.

DoJ's Assessment of Allegations

In its statement, the DoJ described these claims as "untrue and sensationalist." The department further asserted that the allegations are "unfounded and false."

The DoJ also indicated that, had these claims possessed any credibility, they would have been utilized or weaponized against former President Trump at an earlier time.
