Samsung has officially launched its new mid-range Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G smartphones in Europe, with a US release anticipated later this year. The devices offer distinct feature sets at different price points, with the A57 5G positioned as the higher-end model.
Galaxy A57 5G Specifications
The Galaxy A57 5G measures 6.9mm thick and includes an enhanced cooling system with a 13% larger vapor chamber. It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and "Vision Booster" technology. The device is powered by an upgraded Exynos processor (likely the Exynos 1680) and offers 8GB or 12GB of RAM. It carries an IP68 water resistance rating, an improvement over previous generations' IP67. The phone ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, supported by six years of OS and security updates. Its camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro, and a 12MP selfie camera.
At £529 for the base model, the A57 5G offers IP68 rating, a superior camera, and a more powerful chipset.
Galaxy A37 5G Specifications
The Galaxy A37 5G also features a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED panel and a 5,000 mAh battery. It includes an 8MP ultrawide lens instead of the A57's 12MP version. This model is expected to run an unspecified Exynos chipset with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Both the A57 and A37 support Super Fast Charging 2.0, capable of reaching a 60% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
Performance and Camera Observations
Independent reviews of the Galaxy A37 have noted specific performance characteristics. App loading times are slower than some competitors, the fingerprint reader operates slowly, and stutters occur during non-demanding tasks. Games like Diablo Immortal are playable on medium settings but with noticeable hitches. Battery life provides over five hours of screen time per charge, sufficient for a full day of moderate usage. The primary camera takes acceptable photos in good conditions but struggles with motion and low light. The ultra-wide lens amplifies these issues.
Software and Security
Both models incorporate the "Awesome Intelligence" suite, which includes Circle to Search with Google (now with multi-object recognition), Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app, and AI Select for text and image extraction from the Edge Panel. Security features include Knox Vault and a new Private Album function.
Durability Features
The Galaxy A37 includes Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on front and back, with drop resistance up to 2 meters, and an IP68 water resistance rating (submersion up to 1.5m for 30 minutes). The A57 shares the same IP68 rating.

Competitive Comparison
In the mid-range market, the Galaxy A37 offers six years of major system upgrades and security updates. By comparison, the Google Pixel 10a offers seven years of updates but is $250 more expensive. The Nothing Phone 4a offers snappier performance and stronger cameras but lacks full water resistance and has a shorter software lifespan. The Galaxy A57 is $150 more expensive than the A37, offering same durability and longevity, longer battery life, a snappier chipset, and a better camera.
