"The Kelly Clarkson Show" to Conclude After Seven Seasons

NBCUniversal's syndicated daytime talk show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," will conclude its run after its current seventh season. The decision follows weeks of speculation regarding its future. Kelly Clarkson, whose contract was set to expire at the end of Season 7, officially decided to step away from hosting the program.

Clarkson cited prioritizing her children as the primary reason for her departure.

This decision follows a challenging year for Clarkson, which included a leave of absence last spring to be with her children during their father's cancer treatment, and his subsequent passing in August.

Production and Broadcast

Production for the current season will continue as planned, with Clarkson hosting. She will take some days off, and guest hosts will fill in. Episodes for Season 7 are scheduled to air through Fall 2026.

Initially, there was speculation that NBCUniversal might continue the show with an alternative host, but this option will not be pursued, and the show is ending.

Impact on Daytime Syndication

The conclusion of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" represents a significant development for daytime syndication.

The show was considered one of the last high-end offerings in a challenging economic environment for talk shows, where traditional formats with a live band are seen as high-cost and potentially unsustainable.

A Legacy of Achievement

Since its debut in 2019, "The Kelly Clarkson Show" consistently maintained a top position in daytime television. Its digital presence achieved over 2 billion annual views across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for three consecutive years, gaining 6.5 million new social followers. This success was partly driven by the viral popularity of Clarkson's "Kellyoke" segment.

The show has received 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and four consecutive wins for Outstanding Talk Show Host. Produced by Universal Television and distributed by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, the program aired in more than 200 markets nationwide.
