Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" 3D Concert Film Shifts Release Date

New Release Details

The 3D concert film "Hit Me Hard and Soft," which documents Billie Eilish's recent tour for her third studio album, will now debut in theaters on May 8. The film is a Paramount production, co-directed by Eilish and James Cameron.

This release date represents an adjustment from its initial March 20 schedule, which would have coincided with Amazon MGM's "Project Hail Mary." The new May 8 debut will place the film opposite "Mortal Kombat II."

Reasons for the Delay

Cameron communicated that the delay aims to allow for further refinement of the film's edit, optimization of 3D technology, and the incorporation of additional behind-the-scenes elements.

Collaboration and Previous Work

The collaboration between Eilish and Cameron was initially announced by Eilish during her sold-out Co-op Live show in Manchester on July 19, 2025. Eilish has previously been the subject of a documentary, R.J. Cutler's "The World’s A Little Blurry," released in 2021 by Apple.

Eilish's Accolades

Eilish's album, also titled "Hit Me Hard And Soft," was nominated for Grammys in 2025. Her career includes a total of 34 Grammy nominations and 9 Grammy awards. She also holds two Best Original Song Oscars, one for "What Was I Made For?" from "Barbie" and another for "No Time to Die" from the 2021 James Bond film; both awards are shared with her brother, Finneas O’Connell.
