Mansfield State High School Zone Crowned Queensland's Most Sought-After

The Mansfield State High School catchment area has been identified as the most sought-after school zone in Queensland, according to data from online real estate marketplace Domain. This popularity is clearly reflected in strong attendance at school-related events and increased buyer interest in properties located within the zone.

The Mansfield State High School catchment area is Queensland's most sought-after school zone.

Driving Demand: Mansfield's Performance

Ray White Mount Gravatt principal Grant Boman noted the significant draw of the school. He observed that auctions sponsored by Mansfield State High School typically draw between 600 to 700 attendees, a figure that continues to grow annually.

Boman attributed this escalating interest directly to the school's performance. He stated that homes within its catchment can generate up to 25 percent more buyer interest. The school currently serves a substantial student body of over 3800 students. Nearly 90 percent of eligible students residing in the catchment attend, highlighting its strong local appeal. In 2025, the school's cohort exceeded its maximum capacity by an impressive 17 percent.

Low Turnover, High Appeal

Grant Boman also highlighted a key characteristic of the property market in the school's core catchment suburbs, such as Wishart and Mansfield. He noted the remarkably low property turnover in these areas.

Residents often stay for extended periods, particularly families with children, indicating a strong desire to remain within this highly desirable school zone.

Beyond Mansfield: Broader Market Trends

Beyond Mansfield, other state schools also ranked highly in terms of search interest for 2025. Kelvin Grove State College and Brisbane State High School ranked second and third, respectively, in Domain's data.

Domain's chief of research and economics, Nicola Powell, indicated a broader trend:

Popular state schools frequently contribute to a 'price premium' in their respective areas.

For selective-entry schools, such as the Queensland Academy of Science, Mathematics, and Technology, location remains a significant factor for buyers prioritizing commute convenience.
