The Wolfe Brothers Shine at Golden Guitar Awards, Reach 15 Career Wins

Tasmanian country band The Wolfe Brothers achieved remarkable success at the 54th annual Australian Country Music Awards in Tamworth, securing five Golden Guitar trophies. These latest accolades bring their career total to an impressive 15 wins.

The band's acclaimed album, "Australian Made," earned them the prestigious Toyota Album of the Year award.

Tom Wolfe, who fronts the band with his brother Nick, stated the wins were "above and beyond anything we ever expected."

He added, "We were nominated for eight Golden Guitars, and we walked away with five, which is just unbelievable."

A Sweep of Key Categories

Beyond Album of the Year, the duo triumphed in multiple other categories:

  • Contemporary Album of the Year
  • Heritage Song
  • Group and Duo of the Year
  • Vocal Collaboration of the Year with Zac & George for their track "How Many One More Times"

Waving the Australian Flag

Wolfe explained that the "Australian Made" theme for their album was a deliberate choice, particularly amid what he described as a country music boom driven by international acts.

"Our approach was to be authentic to us and ourselves and really try and wave that Australian flag and champion Australian music," Wolfe stated.

He expressed his strong belief that Australia boasts world-class songwriters and performers deserving of global recognition, hoping to see more Australian acts gain international prominence.

Future Plans and Tasmanian Pride

Looking ahead, The Wolfe Brothers plan to travel to the United States in March for a songwriting trip and will announce an Australian tour soon. Wolfe highlighted that modern technology offers "honestly endless" possibilities for distributing music to audiences worldwide.

The Hobart-based musician conveyed his hope that Tasmanians were proud of their success, emphasizing their pride in calling the state home. He pointed to the Foo Fighters concert in Launceston as evidence of Tasmania's capacity to host major international acts. Wolfe commented that performing at Hobart's future Macquarie Point Stadium would be "a dream come true."

After the awards ceremony, Wolfe returned to Hobart Airport to celebrate with his children, mentioning their excitement about the golden guitars.
