Matildas player Chloe Logarzo Berryhill has announced her early retirement from professional football following a severe knee injury sustained during an A-League Women match. The injury occurred last Friday while playing for Western Sydney Wanderers, leading to her immediate retirement, which was confirmed on Saturday. Logarzo Berryhill, 31, had represented Australia in 59 international matches and played for numerous clubs globally.

During an A-League Women match against Brisbane Roar last Friday, Logarzo Berryhill sustained an ACL, LCL, and tendon avulsion injury in her right knee. Western Sydney Wanderers confirmed the extent of the injury, which prompted her immediate retirement from the sport.

The injury not only ended her current season but also impacted her goal of competing for a spot in the AFC Women's Asian Cup squad. Logarzo Berryhill had previously indicated that she planned to retire in the near future, with this season having been considered her last before retiring to start a family. She has a history of knee injuries, including tearing her right ACL in 2021.

Chloe Logarzo Berryhill, aged 31, made 59 international appearances for the Australian national team, the Matildas, scoring eight goals. Her international career highlights include representing Australia at:
