Samsung has commenced the rollout of a new beta version of One UI 8.5, based on Android 16 QPR2, for its Galaxy S25 series devices in India. This update, identified by firmware version ZZAN, marks the fourth beta release for the region and primarily includes a Bixby version update. Earlier reports had suggested additional features and different firmware versions for anticipated updates.

The update is currently being distributed to Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra devices participating in the beta program in India. The firmware version for this release is ZZAN, and the update package has a size of 553.08MB.
This release is the fourth beta version available in India and would represent the fifth global beta release if extended to other regions, as reported by Tarun Vats.
Features and Anticipated Changes
The official changelog for the ZZAN update in India specifies "Applied Bixby version update" as the sole change.
Prior to this rollout, earlier reports had anticipated broader enhancements to Bixby, including the integration of large language models (LLMs) and Perplexity. Additionally, previous information suggested that upcoming software releases could include features such as Direct Voicemail and an updated kernel version (6.6.98).
Earlier expectations for a different firmware version (ZZAB) had also indicated fixes for issues related to AI Select, the Phone app's search history, and clipboard functionalities. Subsequent information had pointed to a firmware version ending in ZZAD for a release with Direct Voicemail and an updated kernel.
