Turner stated that her character is at a "rock bottom" point in her life, leading her to feel a sense of liberation that results in unconventional actions. Before the heist, Turner's character is depicted as feeling her life is dull and directionless, leading her to seek excitement. Turner described the filming experience as immersive, recreating a City of London office environment for six weeks. She mentioned experiencing the feeling of having worked a corporate job and climbed the ladder by the end of production.
