Armistice Day Commemorations Across the UK

Members of the British Royal Family participated in services held throughout the United Kingdom to observe Armistice Day. These events marked the anniversary of the end of World War One, with a national two-minute silence observed at 11:00 GMT.

Royal Engagements

• Princess of Wales: Attended the ceremony at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. She laid a wreath at the Armed Forces Memorial. This marked her first attendance at this specific service.
• Queen Camilla: Participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at Paddington Station in London, having traveled by train to the location.
• Prince of Wales: Released a video message directed at young people aged nine to fourteen in the UK. In the message, he discussed the importance of wearing a red poppy and the broader significance of remembrance. He stated that remembrance connects individuals with service, facilitates learning from others' experiences, and ensures stories are not forgotten. He also emphasized that remembrance contributes to shaping the future by fostering empathy, resilience, and responsibility, and that wearing a poppy or observing silence signifies gratitude and remembrance.
