An incident occurred outside a court in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, resulting in 12 fatalities and at least 27 injuries. This information was provided by Pakistan's interior minister, Mohsin Naqvi.
Minister Naqvi stated that an individual intending to target the district courthouse initiated a suicide attack, but was prevented from entering the building.
Naqvi further indicated that authorities would prioritize the identification of the individual responsible for the attack and ensure accountability for all involved parties.
Such incidents have been infrequent in Islamabad in recent years. Visual documentation from the scene on Tuesday displayed a police cordon and the remnants of a burned vehicle.
