The Space Launch System (SLS) Moon rocket and Orion Space Capsule were transported from Nasa's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to a launch pad approximately four miles (6.4km) away.

The rocket's journey took nearly 12 hours on Saturday, moving at a maximum speed of 0.82 mph (1.3 km/h).

This movement is part of preparations for the Artemis II mission, which is scheduled for launch no earlier than February 6. The 10-day mission aims to carry its four astronauts further into space than any previous human mission.

Artemis II is designed to prepare for an eventual human landing on the lunar surface, marking the first such event since 1972.
