Injury Update for Fred Warner
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner has been ruled out for the team's playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night. Warner is currently recovering from a dislocated and fractured right ankle, an injury sustained three months prior.
His practice window opened during the week, but he was unable to reach a playing status for the upcoming game. Initial expectations had suggested a potential return for the NFC Championship Game, should the 49ers advance.
Uncertainty for Future Games
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Warner's availability for next week's game remains uncertain. Rapoport indicated that sources close to the situation suggest the Super Bowl, if the 49ers qualify, might be a more realistic target for Warner's return.
When asked about Warner's performance in practice, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan offered a positive assessment, stating he "Looked good." Earlier in the week, Shanahan had expressed confidence in the possibility of Warner returning for the NFC Championship Game, noting, "We'll see if it works out."
