Severe Weather Warning Issued

Severe storms carrying large hail and damaging winds are anticipated tonight and tomorrow across south-east Queensland. The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a warning for the region.

Areas at Risk

Areas located west of Brisbane and between the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast hinterlands are identified as likely to be most affected. Some suburbs within Brisbane could also experience heavy rainfall.

Potential Impacts

Senior meteorologist Felim Hanniffy stated that if these severe storms materialize, they possess the potential to bring large hail, damaging winds, and significant rainfall. The primary risk is noted for inland areas, though there is potential for the storms to extend towards coastal regions.
