Impact in the Philippines
Prior to Fung-wong's landfall on Sunday, over one million individuals in the Philippines were evacuated. The typhoon initially made landfall as a super typhoon, exhibiting wind speeds of 185 km/h (115 mph) and gusts reaching 230 km/h (143 mph).
While initial assessments indicate damage was less severe than anticipated, concerns regarding potential rising water levels have been noted, particularly on Luzon Island.
