Five individuals, aged 18 to 19, established a vintage clothing business initially as an online side-venture. Amaru Ley, Gaby Leydman, Finn Harmer, Tom Rush, and Aiden Hellyer commenced selling vintage clothes online to generate additional income. They were all teenagers at the time.
The venture expanded, leading to the sale of thousands of items annually, a development that originated from a shared interest in thrifting. The group subsequently opened a physical retail store in Braddon, which complements their existing online operations.
Their business, Canberra Garms, has been recognized as a prominent store on the global Depop platform. The entrepreneurs have also broadened their sourcing network to include overseas suppliers.
