Russian forces conducted extensive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine overnight, targeting energy infrastructure and residential areas. The attacks resulted in at least six fatalities.
Impact and Casualties
- In Dnipro, a strike on an apartment building resulted in two deaths and 12 injuries.
- Three fatalities were reported in Zaporizhzhia.
- A total of 25 locations across Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv, were affected. These strikes led to power and heating disruptions in multiple areas.
Infrastructure Damage and Response
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported via Telegram that significant energy facilities in the Poltava, Kharkiv, and Kyiv regions sustained damage. Restoration efforts for power supply were stated to be ongoing. Svyrydenko also indicated that critical infrastructure facilities had been reconnected, and water supply was being maintained through the use of generators.
The Ukrainian Energy Ministry confirmed power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Odesa, and Kirovohrad regions, with restoration work actively underway.
Military Reports
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched over 450 explosive drones and 45 missiles. Of these, nine missiles and 406 drones were reportedly intercepted.
Separately, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported the downing of 79 Ukrainian drones during the overnight period.
