- HealthCare.gov Platform: 15.6 million plan selections across 30 states.
- State-based Exchanges (SBEs): 7.2 million plan selections across 20 states and the District of Columbia.
Consumer Type
- New Consumers: Approximately 2.8 million individuals are new to the Marketplaces for 2026.
- Returning Consumers: 20.0 million consumers either actively selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled for 2026 coverage, having had active 2025 coverage.
Specifically, for HealthCare.gov, new consumers totaled 2.1 million and returning consumers were 13.5 million. For State-based Exchanges, there were 701,900 new consumers and 6.5 million returning consumers.
Key State Contributions
Major states contributing to the enrollment figures include Florida with 4.47 million selections, Texas with 4.11 million, and California with 1.94 million through its SBE.
