A bus fire occurred on Power Street in Southbank, near the CityLink off-ramp in Melbourne, resulting in the closure of the thoroughfare and smoke dispersing across the city. Online visuals depicted flames from the bus and a significant smoke plume moving eastward over the city towards the Yarra.
Power Street was subsequently closed in all directions. A witness, Roselle Angel Guno, observed the bus smoking and firefighters present at the scene around 7:30 PM while walking to her residence.
