Missing Boy Located
A 12-year-old boy, previously reported missing, was located safe in Caddo County, Oklahoma, near the town of Cement, on Sunday afternoon. The discovery was made by members of the United Cajun Navy, a volunteer search-and-rescue group, around noon local time. Authorities stated the child was in "pretty good shape" and "good spirits" after a medical examination.
Arrests and Charges
The boy's mother, Kimberly Cole, and stepfather, George Cole, were arrested on Wednesday. They face charges of child abuse, child sexual abuse, and conspiracy. The arrests followed an investigation that indicated "apparent harm" to the child. Both individuals are currently held at the Caddo County Jail, and the local district attorney plans to proceed with the charges.
Investigation and Custody
Prior to being found, the child was last seen on January 2 in Chickasha, approximately 24 miles from his discovery location. The Chickasha Police Department had issued an endangered missing advisory for the boy. Following his retrieval, he was placed into the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to ensure placement in a safe home.
