Nine Major League Baseball (MLB) teams have terminated their broadcast contracts with FanDuel Sports Network (FanDuel SN) and its parent company, Main Street Sports Group. The teams involved are the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Rays.
This termination allows teams to renegotiate agreements or explore new broadcast partnerships. Main Street Sports Group previously underwent a similar process during its 2023-2025 bankruptcy, then operating as Diamond Sports Group. Main Street has indicated it is in active discussions with its team partners regarding potential revised terms.
The MLB teams initiated the contract terminations to mitigate risks associated with a potential future bankruptcy filing by Main Street, which could restrict clubs' contractual flexibility.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred stated the league is prepared to manage team broadcasts if required, with a goal of maximizing revenue for the clubs. He noted that teams are evaluating their options to identify the most beneficial revenue streams and ensure quality broadcasts for their fans.
Reports indicate that Main Street Sports Group has missed scheduled payments to several MLB teams, including the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. Fubo has emerged as a potential contender to acquire Main Street, while a reported deal with DAZN appears less probable.
