Advisory Issued: Do Not Defend Homes During Catastrophic Fire Danger

An advisory recommends against attempting to defend homes during periods of catastrophic fire danger. Under such extreme conditions, residential structures, even those well-prepared, are not constructed to withstand the intensity of fires. Remaining in a home during these events poses a risk of serious injury or fatality.
