A new film in the "Jackass" franchise is confirmed for a wide theatrical release on June 26. Paramount Pictures will distribute the movie.
Johnny Knoxville announced the franchise's return via an Instagram post. The message, co-uploaded by Knoxville, the official "Jackass" account, and Jeff Tremaine's Gorilla Flicks, stated: "this summer 'Jackass' is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!"
Previous Installment and Cast
The upcoming film follows "Jackass Forever," which premiered four years ago. That installment featured various stunts, including Johnny Knoxville's interaction with a bull, Danger Ehren's encounter with a black bear, and Steve-O's involvement with bumblebees. The cast of "Jackass Forever" included a majority of the original stunt performers alongside new additions such as Zach Holmes, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka, and Rachel Wolfson.
Upcoming Cast and Franchise History
Details regarding the full cast for the new "Jackass" film, apart from Johnny Knoxville's involvement, are pending announcement. Original cast member Bam Margera was excluded from "Jackass Forever" due to a contract violation related to substance abuse. Margera has publicly indicated he has no interest in participating in future "Jackass" projects.
The "Jackass" franchise began as a television series on MTV before its expansion into a film series.
