WhatsApp has introduced three new features for its group chat functionality. These updates aim to enhance user interaction and contextualize roles within multi-participant conversations.
New Features Overview
- Member Tags: This feature allows users to assign themselves specific roles within different group chats. For instance, a user could be labeled "Coach" in one chat and "Dad" in another.
- Text Stickers: This function converts typed text into sticker graphics. Users can save these newly created stickers into custom collections.
- Event Reminders: Users can now set custom early reminders when creating and sending events within a group chat. According to Meta, this functionality assists participants in remembering to attend scheduled activities or join calls at designated times.
Availability
The new group chat features are being rolled out globally to all WhatsApp users. These additions follow previous platform updates, including the introduction of third-party chat support in the European Union and WhatsApp for Apple Watch.
