Robyn has announced a new album titled "Sexistential," marking her first album release in over seven years. The album's title track, also named "Sexistential," features Robyn rapping.
The song "Sexistential" addresses the challenges of dating during IVF treatment. It includes a scene where her doctor asks about a "dream donor," to which Robyn responds by referencing Adam Driver. The track is characterized by a twitchy, minimal house-pop style and explores themes such as sex after 40 and single motherhood.
Simultaneously, a second new song titled "Talk to Me" has been released. This track, which focuses on phone sex and healthy communication, is a co-write with Max Martin, who previously produced Robyn’s 1995 debut album. "Talk to Me" has been noted for its synth-pop sound, reminiscent of her 2010 album "Body Talk" and its song "Time Machine."
Earlier works by Robyn have included ventures into dancehall, a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, and Balearica-influenced compositions.
