Perth Man Reported Missing in Mexico, Last Contacted in Early June

A 35-year-old man from Perth, Western Australia, has been reported missing in Mexico after his family lost contact with him. Local and international authorities are involved in the investigation.

Incident Details

Jesse Bruzzese has been traveling alone for approximately nine months. He arrived in Mexico in early May 2026. His last known location was Riviera Maya in Cancun, located in the state of Quintana Roo. He was last heard from by his family on June 3, 2026. His phone has been off or out of service since that date. Authorities in Quintana Roo have issued a missing person notice.

Investigation

WA Police are investigating the case with the involvement of Australian and Mexican authorities, as well as Interpol. Interpol has issued a yellow alert listing countries Bruzzese may have visited during his travels, including Cambodia, Mexico, the United States, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia.

Description and Identifying Features

Bruzzese is described as 167 cm tall, 70 kg, with brown eyes, short dark brown hair, a fair complexion, and a slim build. He has multiple identifiable tattoos:

  • Left forearm: A woman's face
  • Upper left arm: Roman numerals and hands holding a clock face with roses
  • Left shoulder: An eagle with wings spread across the left chest

Appeal for Information

Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact WA Police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. The Bruzzese family has also stated they can be contacted privately via social media but has requested no direct contact to keep phone lines clear.
