OpenClaw Brings AI Agent Apps to iOS and Android
OpenClaw has released standalone applications for both iOS and Android, bringing AI agent functionality directly to the App Store and Play Store. Users can now chat with the AI assistant and grant it access to device components such as the camera, screen, location, photos, contacts, calendar, and reminders.
The new apps give users direct, permission-based control over core device features through an AI agent interface.
The OpenClaw Foundation, which has taken over management of the open-source project after founder Peter Steinberger joined OpenAI earlier this year, published the apps. OpenAI has stated it will provide unspecified support for the organization.
The move marks a significant step for agentic AI tools, which have historically faced stricter review on Apple's platform. Some similar tools have been blocked in the past due to security concerns. Previously, iOS users had to rely on messaging apps like Telegram or WhatsApp to interact with AI agents, making this direct application release a notable shift in accessibility.
