StoryGraph, a book tracking platform, has integrated with Rakuten's Kobo e-reader.
The integration, announced in May and now live, allows Kobo users to automatically sync reading progress with their StoryGraph accounts. When a user finishes a book on a Kobo device or app, it is marked as "Read" on StoryGraph. The feature works with e-books and audiobooks.
StoryGraph is a book-tracking platform that provides reading analytics and community features. Founded in 2019 by Nadia Odunayo and Rob Frelow, it now has over 5 million readers.
Kobo has 12 million users in 190 countries.
This integration makes Kobo the first e-reader to connect with StoryGraph, offering a direct alternative to Amazon's Kindle-Goodreads ecosystem. The integration is free; StoryGraph offers a $5/month Plus subscription for additional features.
