'Scorpio' and 'Bullit': Police Hunt Author of Over 100 Threatening Letters Sent Over 11 Years
Authorities in Australia are investigating a series of threatening letters sent to politicians, religious organizations, and community leaders over an approximately eleven-year period. Police have released excerpts of the correspondence in an appeal for public assistance to identify the sender.
Investigation Details
New South Wales (NSW) Police are leading the investigation under Strike Force Yewrangara. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is also examining letters sent to federal parliamentarians and community groups. The letters, numbering over 100, were sent between 2015 and 2026.
The author uses the pseudonyms "Scorpio" and "Bullit." Some of the letters contain threats and newspaper clippings. Police have described the content as threatening and harassing.

Description of the Suspect
Police believe the offender is a Caucasian man in his 60s. The author's handwriting is distinctive, according to investigators. Released excerpts show a smiley face with impressions resembling bullet casings for eyes, above the signature "Scorpio." The author also often capitalizes the letters F, L, T, N, and H.
Public Appeal
Police have released excerpts of the letters in the hope that members of the public may recognize the handwriting style. The goal is to identify the individual responsible.
AFP Superintendent Nathan Robertson stated that the investigations are related to allegations of criminal behavior. He also noted that authorities have concerns about whether the person responsible has access to appropriate health and support services. Robertson added that people in public life should not be subject to harassment or threats.
