Incident
A 28-year-old man from Mexico City, identified only as Irving, was attacked and killed by a crocodile while swimming at a beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Friday.
Rescue Attempt
A couple from San Clemente, Orange County—Chris Bury and Jamie Yetter—attempted to rescue the victim. They reported hearing screams and witnessing the crocodile dragging the man out to sea. Bury threw a life preserver, but the victim did not respond. He then attempted to paddle out in a kayak but was unable to reach the victim due to murky water.
Aftermath
The victim's body was recovered on Saturday. Authorities captured a crocodile suspected to be responsible for the attack.
