Rescue Update: Man Trapped for Five Days After Quakes in Venezuela

Rescuers from El Salvador, Mexico, and Venezuela are working to free 21-year-old Aaron Levi Cantillo Vargas from the rubble of a collapsed building in La Guaira, Venezuela.

Cantillo Vargas has been trapped for five days following twin earthquakes that struck the country. The rescue operation is being complicated by a dead body located between the rescuers and the trapped man.

Crucial Communication and Hydration

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele stated on Monday that his team has located Cantillo Vargas and has been providing hydration via liquid.

According to Bukele, rescuers are in constant communication with Cantillo Vargas. He reports he is not injured and has been trying to help dig himself out.
