A long-running survey of general practice consultations in Australia is back on track.
The Bettering the Evaluation and Care of Health (BEACH) study has resumed after its funding was discontinued ten years ago. Despite the loss of financial support, the data from the study—maintained by the University of Sydney—continued to be used by researchers.
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing have now provided new funding to revive the project.
Associate Professor Chris Harrison, a former BEACH researcher, will return as chief investigator for quantitative data analysis.
