Hezbollah Supporters Protest in Beirut Against Israel-Lebanon Agreement

Beirut, Lebanon — Hundreds of Hezbollah supporters took to the streets of Beirut on Friday, staging a protest against a recently brokered framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), demonstrators rode motorbikes through central districts and along the airport road. An AFP correspondent at the scene reported that supporters chanted slogans, while Lebanese Army checkpoints monitored the area.

Lawmaker Warns of Civil War

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah issued a stark warning, stating that the resistance—a reference to Hezbollah—would not allow the agreement's implementation without their consent. He described the Washington-brokered deal as an attempt to disrupt a separate U.S.-Iran understanding aimed at halting the broader Middle East war.

Protest Escalates into Roadblocks

Footage from the protest showed hundreds of motorcyclists gathering in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, before moving into the capital. The situation escalated when:

• Some protesters blocked a main road near the government seat
• Others obstructed the airport road with burning tires
• Soldiers dispersed demonstrators after the roadblock was set up

The NNA confirmed that at least one major road was closed due to burning tires placed by the demonstrators.
