Munich Pride Parade Draws Massive Crowds Amid Rising Anti-LGBTQ+ Crime

Over 200 groups participated in Munich's annual Pride parade, also known as Christopher Street Day (CSD), drawing an estimated 30,000 participants and 200,000 spectators.

The parade was held under the motto "Our Diversity. Our Strength." Organizer Conrad Breyer reported no major heat-related incidents, despite temperatures soaring to 36°C. The three-day festival included a wide range of events, such as concerts, karaoke, political discussions, and parties.

According to the campaign group Strong!, anti-LGBTQ+ crime in Bavaria rose 43% in the previous year, totaling 414 incidents. This statistic provides a sobering counterpoint to the celebratory atmosphere of the parade, underscoring the ongoing need for visibility and advocacy.
