Teenage Engineering has released OS 2.5 for its EP-133 KO II sampler, bringing a substantial suite of new features and enhancements to the popular device. The same update is also rolling out for its sibling device, the Riddim.
Key New Features
Audio over USB is now supported, allowing for direct recording and playback without additional hardware.
The update adds selectable sample rates (46 kHz, 32 kHz, and 26 kHz), enabling users to achieve lo-fi effects by lowering the sampling frequency. Other major additions include sample reverse, an arpeggiator, and equal-length autochopping for streamlined sample slicing.
Extended Sample Length
The maximum sample length has been extended from 20 seconds to 40 seconds in mono mode, offering significantly more room for longer recordings and samples.
Additional Improvements
The update also includes improved time stretching, new scales, and per-pad time shifting for more precise performance control. Bug fixes round out the package.
Separate Update for EP-1320 Medieval Sampler
The EP-1320 Medieval sampler is also receiving an OS update, though this release is more limited. The Medieval update only adds USB audio support.
