Facing a critical treatment decision, Christou sought 12 medical opinions. The experts were split between two options: a lighter chemotherapy regimen with a 60% success rate and a more aggressive continuous infusion protocol with an 85% success rate.

After 11 of 12 doctors recommended the aggressive approach, he chose it.

The Role of AI in Treatment

During six months of treatment, Christou meticulously tracked his sleep, symptoms, and biomarkers using wearable devices and AI tools. He utilized the large language model Claude to analyze medical data and scientific literature.

At the conclusion of his chemotherapy, a PET scan returned ambiguous results. An AI analysis, supported by subsequent medical opinions, attributed the finding to a reactivation of the thymus gland—a common occurrence in patients under 40. This interpretation prevented unnecessary radiotherapy.
