Essendon Football Club has formally communicated the process for appointing its next AFL Senior Coach to its members.

A selection panel has been formed to recommend the next coach. The panel members are:

  • Andrew Welsh, President
  • Anthony Di Pietro, Vice President
  • Ted Richards, Director and Chair of Football Governance Committee
  • Tim Roberts, Director and Chief Executive Officer
  • Caroline Monzon, Executive General Manager, People and Culture

The club will not provide updates during the process and will announce the decision directly to members first.

The club has received strong interest in the role both publicly and privately.

Background

The club has spent the past month consulting with board, executive, football staff, coaches, and players to define the success profile for the new coach. The selection panel will draw on internal and external subject matter experts.
