Manchester City Agrees Club-Record Fee for Elliot Anderson

Manchester City has reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson for a club-record fee.

City sources state the fee is £116m with no bonuses attached, while other sources report the deal could be worth up to £130m, which would exceed the British transfer record of £125m paid by Liverpool for Alexander Isak.

Medical and Personal Terms

Anderson, 23, is scheduled to undergo a medical before completing the transfer. Personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle.

Background

Forest had rejected two previous offers from City before accepting the third.

Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle for £35m in 2024 and has made 88 appearances, scoring four goals. He helped Forest finish seventh in the Premier League in 2024-25 and 16th last season, when they also reached the Europa League semi-finals.

Forest's Transfer Plans

Nottingham Forest is interested in Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall and Inter Milan's Davide Frattesi, and is expected to sign two midfielders this summer.

Player's Current Focus

"It's pretty easy really, I'm just focusing on the present, I'm blocking it all out."

Anderson is currently preparing for England's World Cup group match against Panama.

He stated: "I've got a plan and it's to perform for England. I'm putting myself in the best position to cross the line and do that."
