The U.S. Coast Guard boarded two tanker ships, according to a statement from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
One of the vessels was located in the North Atlantic Sea. The second ship was boarded in international waters near the Caribbean. These operations took place within hours of each other.
The tankers were identified as the Marinera and the Sophia. Secretary Noem stated that these ships were either last docked in Venezuela or were en route to the country.
