Netflix has announced that the second season of its anthology series, "Beef," will premiere on April 16. The new season will introduce a new cast, including Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny, and will shift its narrative focus to a country club environment centered around a Korean billionaire owner. Netflix has also released first-look images and additional details for the upcoming season.

Season 2 Cast and Plot

The new season will feature Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny in leading roles. Melton and Spaeny are cast as Austin and Ashley, a young couple employed at an elite country club. Isaac and Mulligan will portray Josh and Lindsay, identified as the club's owner and his wife, respectively. The narrative will commence with Austin and Ashley witnessing a conflict between Josh and Lindsay. This event will lead to a series of reciprocal actions and pressures within the country club setting. The plot is reported to focus on power dynamics and manipulation surrounding the club's Korean billionaire owner.

Additional cast members announced for Season 2 include Yuh-Jung Youn as Chairwoman Park and Song Kang-ho as Dr. Kim. Recurring roles will be played by William Fichtner as Troy, Mikaela Hoover as Ava, and BM as Woosh.

Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, each with a duration of 30 minutes. Lee Sung Jin is confirmed to return as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer. The extensive list of executive producers also includes Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, Ethan Kuperberg, Anna Ouyang Moench, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny. A24 is the studio responsible for the production of the series.

Series Background and Accolades

The first season of "Beef" premiered in 2023, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. Its storyline depicted two individuals whose lives became interconnected following a road rage incident, a concept inspired by series creator Lee Sung Jin's personal experience.

Netflix confirmed the series' continuation in October. Creator Lee Sung Jin had previously indicated a desire to evolve the limited series into an anthology format during its 2023 awards campaign.
